About Us

Newtown Medical Practice occupies the big beautiful heritage two storey building at the corner of Australia and King Street. It is one of the famous landmarks of Newtown situated in its heart opposite Newtown Railway Station. Situated next door are both the Newtown Court House and Newtown Police Station.

 

The practice is committed to providing comprehensive general practice care to all individuals and families in the community. All patients’ consultations and medical records are kept strictly confidential.

NATIONAL PRIVACY POLICY

Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of the practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times to ensure that this information is only available to authorized members of staff.

 

REMINDERS AND RECALLS

Our Practice is committed to preventive care. You have the option of registering to receive reminder notices regarding health care services appropriate to your care. You may be recalled to discuss any abnormal test results. Results are not given over the phone for medicolegal reasons.

NO SMOKING

For occupational health and safety reasons, there is a no smoking policy on our practice premises or in the immediate environment.

 

ZERO TOLERANCE

This medical practice has a zero tolerance for abusive and / or threatening behavior against staff. This includes shouting, swearing, aggressive actions, threats, inappropriate gestures and name calling. Abusers will be required to leave the clinic and transfer their care to another practice. Refusal to leave will result in the police being called.
